This unique property situated in the Rocky Mountains belonged to not one, but two world-famous musicians who came to Aspen to escape, create, and draw inspiration from a place where the sound of the river drowns out other noise. It was purchased by Jimmy Buffett in 1976, and more recently the guest house and personal recording studio of legendary singer songwriter Glenn Frey of The Eagles. Frey named the place Mad Dog Ranch and converted two log outbuildings that Buffet had built into a state-of-the-art recording studio. This world class recording studio was designed by Frank Comentale of the famous Hit Factory in New York City specifically for Glenn Frey.

In January 2016, Julie Garside began a massive renovation of the main house and guest cabin to preserve the ranch’s history, uniqueness, and character. As owner and business manger in Mad Dog Ranch Studios, which includes the property’s 2 recording studio buildings that was refurbished in 2016, Garside hopes many more legendary musicians will travel the bridge, forging new creative paths at this magical locale.

In addition to the studio, the property is now available for special events. We’re so excited to provide a beautiful, one of a kind venue for your event or recording needs.

We look forward to your visit,

The Mad Dog Crew
