A MUSICAL LEGACY
JIMMY BUFFETT 1976–1990
In 1976, Jimmy Buffett purchased this secluded Snowmass property as a place to write, create, and escape. A workshop on the ranch would later become the foundation of what is now Studio A.
GLENN FREY 1990–2016
Glenn Frey purchased the property in 1990, naming it Mad Dog Ranch,. Over the next 26 years, the ranch became his private creative retreat and personal recording studios.
MAD DOG RANCH 2016–TODAY
In 2016, Mad Dog Ranch entered its next chapter. The studio was restored and updated with modern recording gear, preserving its remarkable musical history while creating a place for today's artists to record, write and create.
